City of Grand Rapids Looking for Lifeguards
If summer is your favorite season, you love being near the water, and you're someone who loves soaking up the sun, consider this the perfect summer job.
The city of Grand Rapids is currently looking to hire lifeguards for the upcoming season. You'll be working at one of three of their public pools: Briggs, MLK, or Richmond Park. As a lifeguard, you'll be responsible for the overall safety of people and make sure they are abiding by pool rules. According to the posting,
Their main focus is the prevention of accidents in and out of the aquatic environment. Lifeguards will perform patron rescues as needed and respond appropriately to emergency situations. This position requires high levels of professionalism, attentiveness to detail, customer service and communication skills.
A Red Cross certification is preferred but not required -- free certification will be provided if necessary. Lifeguard training will also be provided [for those that need it] for only $20 for residents and $30 for non-residents.
The gig pays $11.25/hour and you must be at least 15-years-old to apply so this could be a great opportunity for a teen to make some extra money this summer. Anyone else getting Sandlot vibes?!
