The Connie And Fish “Listener’s Guide To Happiness”
This morning we asked our listeners to give us their secret to happiness and they did not disappoint. So here are some tips from fellow listeners on how to be happy:
- Stop caring so much what other people think.
- Stop going around my mother in law.
- Choose joy!
- Take time to yourself go and do something relaxing and take care of you.
- Smile! Fake it till you make it!!!
- Self love.
- My husband was reading a book about not sweating the small stuff. It's called the subtle art of not giving a frick.
- Happiness is often a choice!
- Eat chocolate.
- Finding happiness has been my mission this past year. I have learned to find joy in the small things. Take moments to be thankful. Self care. #dontworrybehappy
- If it won't matter in 2 weeks it's not worth getting upset about.
- Have an open heart.
- Give more than you receive.
- Self care is super important! If you don't learn to love yourself then you can't take care of everyone else.
- Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
- Buy a cat..
- I am a teacher, last year was my first year of teaching and my tip to ensure happiness is to leave work at work and have dinner with your loved ones without technology.
- Content with circumstances.
- Go to bed winning.
- I like complimenting people and making their day just a little bit better
- Maintain your flower bed, weed out the bad stuff.
- Don't gossip.
- Have a hobby so you can be positive and do things for yourself.
- Always laugh.
- Be the better person in any situation. In the end, you have to wake up to your conscience. So you want your decisions to be positive to your conscience and bring good karma. If all else fails, Zoloft! Lol
- Happy Wife, Happy Life.
- Attitude of gratitude. There is always something to be grateful for. Even if it’s just the ability to breathe through a difficult day.
- My dad always says my grandpa told him "son don't ever sign anything if you don't want to end up in the army" (I also tell him it's not the 40's anymore)
- Happiness is a state of mind if one isn’t happy then change your state of mind. Being positive no matter how hard things get. Look for the good in everyone and every situation we find ourselves in.
- I believe the key is that you have to really WANT to be happy. I have friends who tend to have negative outlooks on life. So then when they try to be happy and optimistic, the second something doesn’t go right, they throw their hands up in the air and quit. I think it’s like any other good habit, eating right, exercising, you have to push through. You’re going to have ups and downs but you just have to stay with it. So if I had any advice, I would say that it any given moment, take a deep breath and pause before reacting. I think you’ll find that the moment of clarity can help you make choices that will lead to happiness!
