Arrowhead Stadium is known for being one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL and it was for this game, but instead of Chiefs fans cheering,

It was Kool-Aid-drinking Detroit Lions fans who made the trip to see a new Lions team that won the game 21-20

The Lions are now 1-0 on the season and coming up on Sunday, September 17th they will take on the Seattle Seahawks in the home opener.

If you're attending the Lions home opener you're encouraged to wear a mask.

Why Are Detroit Lions Fans Wearing Masks?

There is a good chance if you're at the game or watching it on TV you'll see people wearing masks as they cheer on the Lions.

They're not the masks that we all wore during the COVID-19 pandemic, These are Blue Ski Masks and there's a story behind them.

After the Lions beat Kansas City last week, Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson appeared in the locker room wearing a blue ski mask, declaring “it ain’t the same Detroit!”

Gardner-Johnson said he wants fans to show up to Ford Field on Sunday for the home opener against Seattle wearing similar blue ski masks.

You gonna see on Sunday, blue ski masks everywhere, Part of us, it’s the culture. I’m changing it.

Mask or no mask you can watch the Detroit Lions take on The Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 1 pm on FOX.
