Longtime Detroit Lions' kicker Jason Hanson has announced that he will be retiring from the team. Hanson has been a member of the Lions' team for 21 seasons, and is the longest tenured player in the NFL.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Hanson was offered a take-it-or-leave it offer for $1 million earlier this year.

Hanson holds two NFL records: one for the most field goals made over 50 yards (52), and one for the most consecutive games played with a single team (327).

It's being reported that the Lions were already planning for Hanson's replacement before he officially announced his retirement from the team.

I'm just wondering who the world to pick as the kicker for my fantasy team next year.
