Divorce for Nicholas Sparks?!

Say it ain't so! Our favorite romantic writer, Nicholas Sparks, is calling it quits with the woman who inspired so many of the best-selling author's novels.

Sparks has been with his wife, Cathy, for 25 years!

We're sure you're asking the question we all are: How can this happen with a couple who's love inspired novels like "The Notebook" and 16 other heart-wrenching love stories!

Sparks told People:

Cathy and I have separated, This is, of course, not a decision we've made lightly. We remain close friends with deep respect for each other and love for our children. For our children's sake, we regard this as a private matter."

WAHHHHH! We are so sad. Hopefully, however, their story ends like "The Notebook" and they get back together -- just like the scene below.
