When typing, do you ever find yourself light headed? Former Apple executive Linda Stone believes that up to 80% of us stop breathing while typing. While we may not realize that we do stop breathing, this sends our bodies into 'fight or flight mode,' which can cause symptoms such as dilation of pupils, increased heart palpitations, dilated blood vessels in the face, and excessive sweating. Stone wonders if the combination of holding our breath on and off while typing and failing to move 'when our bodies have prepared us to do so,' has contributed to the obesity epidemic our nation faces. While Email Apnea is still being researched, it is believed that being aware is the first step of controlling it.
