Earthquake Measuring 4.0 Centered Under Lake Erie
This morning brought a big surprise for some people along Lake Erie.
The United States Geological Survey says an earthquake measuring 4.0 struck at 10:50 a.m. EST this morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Lake Erie, about 2.5 miles northwest of Eastlake, Ohio and about 20 miles from Cleveland.
The Ohio Department of Transportation captured some shaky video on their traffic cameras.
People are sharing their experiences of the earthquake on the City of Eastlake's Facebook page. Reports include fallen pictures, items falling off tables, rattling windows and shaking houses. Plus, one man had the unfortunate experience of being in a port-a-potty through the whole thing.
