East Palestine Man Says Toxic Spill Caused His Voice To Change
It's been about a month since the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment.
On Friday, February 3rd around 9 pm, 50 Norfolk Southern freight trains carrying hazardous materials derailed in East Palestine, Ohio.
No one was injured in the derailment that investigators said was caused by a broken axle.
But the residents of East Palestine are dealing with the aftermath of the toxic spill.
The derailment started a massive fire with orange flames lighting up the sky in the village of East Palestine.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said that Nearly 44,000 aquatic animals were potentially killed as a result of the derailed train.
What Symptoms Are East Palestine Residents Experiencing?
Some residents of East Palestine, Ohio have reported experiencing the following symptoms since the toxic train derailment.
- rashes
- sore throats
- nausea
- headaches
- diarrhea
- breathing issues.
The Ohio Department of Health has opened a new health clinic to address these concerns.
But one East Palestine resident is reporting something else that his doctor attributes to the toxic spill.
