Fennville Boys Basketball Team Advances In The Playoffs!

Thousands rallied inside DeVos Fieldhouse at Hope College last night to support Fennville's boys basketball team as they faced Lawrence for their Class C district opener.

Last Thursday, junior point guard Wes Leonard fatally collapsed of a heart attack related to an undiagnosed enlarged heart.

Before the game, the Blackhawks had dinner with the opposing team and later beat Lawrence 65-54 to advance to Wednesday’s district semifinals at Bloomingdale High School against Bangor.

Wes' funeral is this morning at Christ Memorial Church in Holland at 10:30.
