Flanagan's has been a favorite amongst locals and visitors for years. You would often find live music inside the bar, and it has long been one of the few places in town where you could find things like bangers and mash on the menu.

In addition, there was a bright orange sign in one of the windows that said "Suspended License" in large, bold letters.

On one of the doors, you can also see a note that appears to be from the bar itself that reads,

Our pub is temporarily closed. Plans are to reopen and become Grand Rapids [sic] favorite gathering place.

Why Was Flanagan's Liquor License Suspended?

While we don't know all of the details surrounding the suspension of the liquor license, the orange sign tells us some of them.

According to the handwritten portion of the bright orange notice announcing the suspension, the pub's liquor license is suspended for 50 days (beginning June 10, 2025). It also says that the license was suspended for "failure to pay fines of $1,000."
