Parent Billie DeVille says that she went to the school to complain after her child came home and told her that the teacher in her class that day had "introduced" a Ouija board to the class.
DeVille says in a social media post that at first, she wasn't sure how she was going to handle the situation. But, she says she was "outraged".

She also pointed out that the teacher allegedly, "asked the students who weren’t comfortable to leave the classroom before proceeding to teach them out of curriculum."
Several other parents chimed in in the comments on her post saying "you never know what energy you’re going to pick up with that" and "no cursive Or Black History but they can study witchcraft."
A school board meeting was held on November 20, and that was when DeVille was able to voice her concerns in a more public fashion.
At that time, the superintendent of the school, Kevelin Jones, let DeVille and the rest of the people in attendance know that that teacher would no longer be teaching in the district.
It's important to note that said teacher was not a full-time employee of the school, but instead a substitute teacher.
Following the meeting, DeVille shared on social media that she was grateful for the action taken by the superintendent and the school board.
