Flowers, Poop, and Dirt – Steve’s Daddy Tips (5-15-19)

Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

1. This week's first Daddy Tip is all about picking flowers. If your little one is anything like Charlotte they will love picking flowers so put them to work. If you have a dandelion problem… Boom! All of a sudden you got a little kid to take care of those dandelions. Yesterday Charlotte spent about 30 minutes walking around the yard picking dandelions and now we are dandelion free!
2. For our next Daddy Tip, we will stick with the outdoors theme. Let’s talk poop. Your kid is gonna find poop no matter how well you think you have your yard cleaned up, they are gonna find it.  Be it dog poop, animal poop, or even bird poop.  Yesterday Charlotte found the one stick in the yard that had bird poop on it.  How!?  So when you are out with your little one, make sure you bring antibacterial wipes with you because they are going to be grabbing all sorts of stuff and it might just end up being poop.
3. And the final Daddy Tip is to just let your kid eat dirt once. Now, I’m not saying let them eat a whole bowl of diet, just a handful. They are gonna do it sooner or later and after they do they’ll realize it’s disgusting and not do it again. Well, they might, but sometimes kids like the taste of dirt and all you can do is hope your kid isn’t a dirt eater.
