As of Friday, March 13, at 5p.m. Founder's Brewing Co. has closed its Grand Rapids and Detroit taprooms due to concerns about COVID-19.

shared a statement saying taprooms would be closed until April 5, but that brewing operations would continue. Founders says they will pay their employees during the closure.

During her announcement, Whitmer said,

“This is about protecting the most people we can from the spread of coronavirus. My administration will continue to do everything we can to mitigate the spread, and to ensure our children, families, and businesses have the support they need during this time. We are going to get through this, but we must be flexible and take care of each other.”

According to WZZM-13, by the end of the day Friday, March 13, 25 cases of coronavirus have tested presumptive positive in Michigan.
