Free Water Parks, Public Transportation, + More – Staying Cool In Grand Rapids

It has been the heat wave to end all heat waves this week!  To help combat the heat, here are some tips to stay cool:

1. Make sure you wear loose fitting, light colored clothing.
2. Avoid doing lots of outdoor activity.
3. Wait for next week to mow that lawn or take that run.
4. Stay Hydrated!
5. Stay places where it’s cooler, even in the shade can be 10 degrees cooler than in the direct sunlight.

Now on to some fun ways to beat the heat! - FREE ADMISSION FOR KIDS AT MILLENNIUM PARK BEACH THURSDAY, JULY 21.  Children age 15 and under will be admitted free to the park’s beach and Splashpad, when accompanied by an adult. The beach area at Millennium Park also features a concession stand, boat and paddle boat rentals, a playground and a beach house for changing. THURSDAY, JULY 21, 2011 / 10 A.M. TO 8 P.M.

Also free rides again on the Rapid Thursday!  It’s a Clean Air Action day again today, so free Rapid rides.  Hoorah!  Go Heat!
