Grand Rapids Named 3rd Best Beer City In The World
OK, we've gotten accustomed to being one of the best beer cities in the country, but when we make it into the top 3 of the entire world... Well, that's a whole new story.
CNN Travel posted a list of the 15 Best Beer Cities Around The World and Grand Rapids not only made the list, but it was #3, beating out cities like Melbourne, Berlin, and even Brussels. To be fair, the article did list 3 American cities as the top 3 in the world, which probably isn't really true, but it's still cool.
Despite the city of Grand Rapids being mentioned, the article kinda lumps in a large chunk of West Michigan with it. They say that Western Michigan as a whole is home to over 80 breweries and specifically name Founder's, Bell's, Brewery Vivant, and The Mitten.
Here is the complete list of the 15 best beer cities:
- Portland, Maine, USA
- Asheville, North Carolina, USA
- Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
- Brussels, Belgium
- Tokyo, Japan
- Shanghai, China
- Berlin, Germany
- Rome, Italy
- Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
- Melbourne, Australia
- Cape Town, South Africa
- Lisbon, Portugal
- Warsaw, Poland
- Tallinn, Estonia
- Budapest, Hungary
Do you really think that Grand Rapids (Beer City, USA) is actually better than all of the those international city's beer scenes? I personally don't, but it's cool that someone thinks so!
