Grand Rapids Kids Swim FREE All Summer Long With This Pass
One of the best parts of summertime in West Michigan is when the weather gets warm enough to put on our swimsuits—which somehow got tighter since last summer—and head to the local pool to cool off and have some fun.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the financial means to afford going to the pool.
This summer, that shouldn't be a problem for kids in Grand Rapids, thanks to a new pool pass.
Grand Rapids Outdoor Pool Pass
The city of Grand Rapids announced that children aged 17 and under can enjoy the city’s outdoor swimming pools absolutely free this summer.
David Marquardt, Director of Parks and Recreation, shared why they are offering the pool pass for free.
“Every child deserves access to safe, enriching spaces during the summer and our pools are a vital part of that. By removing cost barriers and streamlining access, we’re making it easier for all Grand Rapids families to enjoy the benefits of swimming, play and community connection – regardless of income or neighborhood.”
As someone who grew up with a single mom and tight finances, I can tell you that free programs like this make a huge difference for families doing their best to keep the lights on and food on the table.
