Warm temperatures have allowed pollen levels to rise quickly in Grand Rapids, but high pollen levels are nothing new to West Michigan.  A new report lists Grand Rapids as one of the worst places in the country for pollen levels.

Allergy sufferers are off to a bad start this spring.  Our warm temperatures have allowed pollination to begin about five weeks ahead of schedule.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America ranks Grand Rapids as the 35th "most challenging place to live with spring allergies".  The rankings consider average pollen counts, medication used, and allergists available.  Grand Rapids received the worst rating possible for average pollen count.
