In a message sent to parents from Grandville Public Schools they were informed that afternoon bus routes were cancelled after the district received a bomb threat earlier in the day.

The threat was sent in the form of an anonymous email, threatening that a bomb had been placed on a school bus.
Grandville Police and Michigan State Police did a thorough investigation and inspected every school bus.
They were able to confirm all buses were clear and no explosive devices were found.
Out of an abundance of caution, the district canceled all afternoon bus transportation, which meant parents had to scramble to pick up their kids.
Since not all parents could drop everything, and pick up their kids teachers and staff worked out a plan to stay until parents could make other plans or come later to the school.
After the all-clear, the district says they plan to resume normal bus service for Tuesday.

I'm so glad that this was just a hoax and not something far more dangerous.

Also the fact that school staff and teachers stuck around until all the kids were picked up show that there is nothing teachers won't do for their student.
