If your children have ever expressed interest in a career as a police officer, the Grand Rapids Police Department now has a way for teens, and young adults, to experience life as a police officer.

The Grand Rapids Police Explorers is set to do more than just show young people what it's like to be an officer. The official brochure shows members will explore real life career opportunities, gain leadership skills, be taught conflict-resolution, problem solving, relationship skills, learn the democratic process and learn how to make ethical decisions.

The program is available to men and women between the age of 14 and 21.

If you know of a young person who is interested, they can download the application HERE.
