Grand Rapids Public Schools is looking for a new superintendent, as Teresa Weatherall Neal announced in September that she would be retiring at the end of the school year.

G.R.P.S. is hoping to get some input from Grand Rapids residents about what they most desire in a new superintendent for the Grand Rapids Public Schools.

School officials plan to hold four town-hall meeting across the city between November 26th and 29th.

G.R.P.S. sent out a press release will the following dates and locations for the town-hall meetings:

  • Nov. 26 at City High Middle (1720 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505)
  • Nov. 27 at Union High (1800 Tremont Blvd. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504)
  • Nov. 28 at Cesar E. Chavez Elementary (1205 Grandville Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503)
  • Nov. 29 at Gerald R. Ford Academic Center (851 Madison Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507)

The meetings are scheduled from 5:30 to 7 pm.

If you can’t make any of the meetings but still want to have a say, you’re encouraged to leave your input on their online survey.

The G.R.P.S. press release says that school officials are holding other meetings as well with different community organizations, to get as much participation in the search as possible.
