Halloween and Picture Day – Steve’s Daddy Tips (10-30-19)
Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!
Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke! So let's get to the tips!
- Today’s first Daddy Tip is how to properly prepare for your toddler’s picture day at school because we weren’t prepared and it almost ended in disaster. The tip is easy, be sure to send your little one with extra pairs of matching pants and tops. Simple, right? Well, we didn’t do that and of course, Charlotte had a huge poop and got it all over her pants. So, Charlotte had to wear the extra pair we keep at school. Uh-oh is right, but luckily they kinda matched so picture day wasn’t ruined by poopy pants.
- The next Daddy Tip is to not get your hopes up that your toddler will be helpful when handing out candy for Halloween. You might get lucky and your little guy or girl might actually successfully hand out some candy. But if your kids are anything like Charlotte, then they might run away with the candy, say no when you ask them to give it to the trick-or-treaters, or just be too shy to even approach the kids. So, it’s probably better to just let them watch this year, and they can help next year.
- And the final Daddy Tip of the week is what I like to call the half and half. Tomorrow is Halloween and that means you will be out with your little one trick-or-treating. So, this tip is simple, you get half of your toddler’s candy and they get the other half. You don’t want those little teeth to rot out, so you need to do your parental duty and steal half of their candy. Just make sure they don’t see you splitting the candy in half or you might face some consequences.
And now it’s time for a spooky Halloween Dad Joke!
