Muskegon Gets A Tasty Twist With Hotdog Mikey’s Charity Event
For one day only, Muskegon’s favorite burger spot is switching up its menu for a reason that’s bigger than burgers.
On Sunday, October 26, from noon to 5 pm, Hamburger Mikey at 1129 3rd Street will temporarily become “Hotdog Mikey” and serve up hot dogs instead of their usual mouthwatering burgers, all to benefit Food Hugs.
If you’re not already a dedicated fan of Chef Jenna and her cause, Food Hugs is a nonprofit dedicated to spreading kindness and making sure others are fed.
Started during the COVID pandemic to help restaurant workers, they now spread kindness by buying random meals for others, or feeding snow plow drivers during the coldest winter shifts.
Managing partner of Hamburger Mikey, Tim Taylor, told our friends at FOX 17 that 20% of the day’s profits will go directly to Food Hugs, helping them continue their mission of giving back through random acts of generosity.
If you’ve ever needed an excuse to grab a meal out, this is it. Not only can you enjoy something new (and super limited) from one of Muskegon’s most beloved eateries, but you’ll also be helping put food on someone else’s plate, too.
Here’s the menu you’ll find that afternoon (See the photo in the post below)
And for fans who want to take a little piece of this feel-good day home, Hotdog Mikey merchandise will also be available, with proceeds supporting the same great cause.
So mark your calendar because on October 26, it’s not just about what’s on the grill, it’s about who it helps here in West Michigan.
