How To See Your Unique LEGO Creation Displayed at the GRAM
This weekend on Saturday, November 4th the Grand Rapids Art Museum is opening a brand new exhibit that will excite art and LEGO lovers alike. They've teamed up with Grand Rapids LEGO retailer Bricks and Minifigs to host “Brick by Brick: The Creative Art of LEGO”
Until May 2024, visitors will be able to experience some of the most creative and unique LEGO creations on the planet. And GRAM CEO and Director Cindy Foley hopes you'll fall in love with what you find. "The Grand Rapids Art Museum is thrilled to welcome LEGO lovers of all ages to GRAM this fall to experience the joy and creativity of LEGO"
They plan to have some great hands on activities available like:
- An interactive community LEGO® building area
- A create your own minifigure drawing activity
- A minifigure scavenger hunt throughout the Museum
But you don't have to be a bystander to this unique exhibit while it takes place, they are welcoming LEGO lovers of all ages in West Michigan to participate, too.
They're offering three categories for people to compete in including Adult Category: Ages 18 and over (with submissions due Friday, November 17) The youth category: Ages 17 and under (with submissions due Friday, December 8) and you can get the entire family together to compete in their Family Category: Entries built collaboratively as a family (with submissions due Friday, January 5)
If you want to compete, you can submit your LEGO masterpiece on their website.
This incredibly unique exhibit will be one you won't want to miss. And if you're worried about breaking the budget, the GRAM does offer free general admission on Tuesdays and Thursdays thanks to their partnership with Meijer.
