Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. Today’s first Daddy Tip is how to make the perfect gift for family or friends from your little one. By now you know that most crafts made by a toddler are pretty, well, let’s face it... Bad. But don’t worry because I’m here to tell you about a craft that will look kinda cool no matter what. Go to the store and buy the cheapest Christmas Tree Bulbs you can and let your toddler paint a few up to give to their grandparents, aunts, uncles and pretty much anyone else. Who cares if the bulb is just a mess of paint with no rhyme or reason, it’ll still look kinda cool.
  2. The next Daddy Tip is to load up on healthy snacks for your holiday party. First off, most kids won’t be eating much of that ham, roast, or turkey, and will just want to get at the candy, cookies, and pies. Well, they can have their desserts, but make sure they have some veggies and fruit throughout the day. Keeping them full of healthy snacks throughout the day will keep them from getting fussy from sugar crashes and will just make the day go a little smoother.
  3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is to check out your local library for storytime! I recently was invited to read to kids at a local storytime and it was a blast! And after it was over I found out that most libraries have multiple storytimes throughout the week. I can barely read a book to Charlotte without her grabbing at it, trying to turn the pages, or just not caring altogether, but when she is at an official storytime, the girl sits quietly and is enthralled by the story. It’s crazy how it works, but it does. So check your local libraries calendars to see when they have storytime.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!
