The Detroit Lions picked up quarterback Jared Goff from the Los Angeles Rams last week, and at this point in his career he's as good as some big name players.

I ran Goff's first four years as a starter through the NFL Comparison site, and while young Jared has choked a bit in some playoff games, he's right up there with Matthew Stafford and the immortal GOAT Tom Brady, at least as far as his first four seasons as a starter is concerned.

Goff destroys Stafford when you compare both QBs first four years. Goff has more wins, playoff wins, passing yards and touchdown passes than Stafford, albeit playing for a better team. Don't forget, Stafford was a interception machine during his early Lion years, and while Goff is often called that, he had 17 fewer picks in the same amount of games.

Now let's compare Goff's stats to the maestro Tom Brady. Keep in mind, Brady played a lot of playoff football in those first four years, going 9-0 in the playoffs as a starter. Goff can't touch him there, but in some other areas, he's surprisingly close.

Goff tossed fewer interceptions and more touchdowns than young Brady, and had a better QB rating. But the playoffs is where Mr. Brady makes bank, outperforming Goff in almost every category. Although, to be honest, if Goff just gets the Lions to the playoffs, he would be my hero.
