The days are getting a little bit longer, and soon we will be springing forward with Daylight Saving Time.

I've been seeing more birds outside my home, and I can hear them in the early morning chirping back and forth with each other. All of this gets me excited because it can only mean one thing.

One Of The Coolest Birds In The World Will Be In Michigan Soon

The cool bird I'm excited about seeing again is the talking the hummingbird.

Michigan is known for having 6 different types of hummingbirds including the Ruby-throated hummingbird, Rufous hummingbird, Anna’s hummingbird, White-eared hummingbird, Broad-billed hummingbird, and the Mexican violetear.

These little birds can do some pretty impressive things.

For example did you know hummingbirds are they only bird that can fly forward, backwards, sideways and up and down.

Hummingbirds can also fly an impressive 1,000 miles at a time, that's a long way for such little wings, and soon they'll be arriving here in Michigan.

When Do Hummingbirds Arrive In Michigan?

Here in Michigan, we can expect to start seeing hummingbirds in mid-April and into early May.

I've never set up a hummingbird feeder before, but I think I'm going to go out and buy one so I have a better chance of seeing these beautiful little birds out in my backyard.
