This year has been like no other for the Detroit Lions players, coaches, owners, and fans as they have had success that they haven't seen since the mid 2010s and have been playing great since the end of last season. With the trends of the team and their remaining schedule it doesn't look too many things can get in the way of the freight train that is now the Detroit Lions.

They have found a way to defy the odds and stunt on the haters as they have cruised to a 5-1 start in the NFL season and have only suffered an overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks who were a playoff team last season and have a winning record so far this season. Many young draft picks and free agency moves have meshed together, and stars are being born as the Honolulu blue and silver faithful are basking in the winning spirit once again.

Since Week 9 of last season, the Detroit Lions are tied for the 3rd best record in the NFL during that time span. They are tied with the Eagles at 12-3 in their last 15 games, only the Chiefs and 49ers have better records in that time span. Quarterback Jared Goff has found his stride as he looks like a QB that's been to the Superbowl before.

Jared has been dominant with the long ball this season as he's leading the league with 29 passes gaining 20 yards or more and this is only the beginning of the greatness for Detroit. The defense has been stellar and has held every opponent so far to less than 100 yards rushing. The Lions play so far has them on everybody's radar and climbing up the power rankings.

Many different sports companies, podcasts, and analysts put out their own power rankings and the beautiful thing about them is that everyone can feel differently about how each team is playing. Some will have teams rank a team higher or lower than someone else or have a team ranked that someone else doesn't. Luckily for the Lions, almost everyone has them ranked and it's near the top!
