With new resorts popping up all the time like The Woods in Fennville and Post Card Cabins in Grand Junction, Michigan is truly becoming a glamping destination. Glamping is a great option when you want to be outside in nature, but not get too rustic. It's perfect for someone like me who appreciates Michigan's beauty... but also wants a comfy bed to sleep in, clean bathrooms, and at least a little pampering.

Well, a glamping spot that's been on my bucket list for a while is being recognized as one of the best in the nation.

USA Today and 10Best polled their readers to discover the top glamping spots in America in 2026. A panel of experts picked twenty retreats that combine "the simplicity of traditional camping with the indulgence of modern amenities and creature comforts," before opening the rankings to a public vote.

Beaver Island Retreat Named One of the Best in America

Michigan's Beaver Island Retreat landed at No. 3 in the nation on this year's list.

Located on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan, this resort offers safari-style tents with high-end touches like memory foam mattresses, custom furnishings, private porches, and personal fire pits.

Guests also get access to upscale bathhouses, a shared chef-style kitchen, 24-hour laundry, and a pavilion bar. (Sounds right up my alley!)

The island itself adds to the appeal, offering a quiet, off-the-grid feel and access to one of Michigan’s designated dark sky areas, making it a dream for stargazing.

Another Michigan Glamping Spot to Check Out

Another Michigan destination was also in the running this year, though it didn't crack the top ten.

Glamp Michigan is tucked into a private forest in Benzonia near Sleeping Bear Dunes. This spot offers luxury geodesic domes that feel more like a boutique hotel than a campsite.
