Beloved West Michigan Barbecue Restaurant Closing Its Doors
West Michigan is saying goodbye to another restaurant. A joint serving up southern comfort food is shutting down.
After seven years in business, Broken Smoker at 120 East Main Street in Middleville is permanently closing.

Broken Smoker cooks meat slowly over cherry and oak wood in its custom-built smoker.
On the menu you'll find appetizers like pickle chips, fries smothered in cheese and chopped brisket, spicy cheese curds, and Hillbilly Rolls, which are egg rolls stuffed with pulled pork and slaw.
Sandwiches include pulled pork, BBQ grilled cheese, and The Gambler, which is a monster sandwich loaded up with brisket, pulled pork, spicy sausage, mac and cheese, and coleslaw. You'll also find charbroiled burgers and wraps.
Smoked BBQ meals include brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, chicken, and sausage. For sides picked from smoked beans, French fries, okra, corn bread, hush puppies, coleslaw, mac and cheese, or collard greens.

Hurry into the Broken Smoker if you want to have one last meal there or try them for the first time! The restaurant is set to close August 31.
The owners shared the news to Facebook, saying, "It is with a very heavy heart that Broken Smoker will be closing its doors on the 31st of August. We encourage all that have a gift card to please come and use them before we close. We have had a good 7 years even thought they have been hard we have made some great friends. I would like to thank everyone for there support and love of our BBQ."

This is a huge bummer, my wife and I absolutely love the Broken Smoker. Food has always been delicious and the staff has been so delightful.
The restaurant will be in operation regular hours until the 31st.
Hours are Wednesday and Thursday 11:30a.m. to 7p.m., Friday and Saturday 11:30a.m. to 8p.m., closed Sunday through Tuesday.
