Massive 6-Pound Burrito Challenge Hits Grand Rapids
Ever heard of Tacos Don Jose? We told you about the authentic Mexican restaurant when it opened in Grand Rapids back in the summer of 2024. At the time, what really stood out to me was the new eatery's four-pound burrito challenge!

From a 4-Pound Burrito to a Bigger Challenge
Back then, it was the Wet Burrito Don Jose, stuffed with your choice of protein and loaded with rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, onion, guacamole, salsa verde, and salsa roja. But if four pounds wasn’t enough to push the limits of any appetite, the restaurant has now taken things to a whole new level with the six-pound Maximo Burrito.

So how did he do?
Kyle, who has conquered countless food challenges across the state, shared that his Maximo Burrito actually ended up tipping the scales at over seven pounds! He had two hours to finish the entire burrito, jalapeños included, to earn a free meal and a winner’s shirt. Even for someone with his experience, it was no small feat, with every bite requiring strategy and stamina. Kyle managed to finish in under 40 minutes, carefully working his way through the peppers and the massive portions of rice, beans, and protein.
