Parts of West Michigan Under Winter Weather Advisory on Halloween

While some of West Michigan is under a Winter Weather Advisory, it's expected to be cold and snowy across the region. On Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, the high will be 38 degrees.
According to Wood TV-8, today is the coldest day of the season so far. Snow is expected throughout West Michigan, mainly in the afternoon and evening. One to two inches of snow are expected, with higher amounts of snow along the lakeshore, where a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Oceana, Newaygo, Muskegon, and Ottawa County from 8a.m. to midnight. Total snow accumulations of up to 6 inches is predicted. Locally higher amounts are possible especially around New Era.
Residents should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. In addition, gusty winds will cause wind chills in the
20s.
The National Weather Service advises anyone planning to spend time outside should dress in layers.
