What Happened?

On August 14, 2023, Alicia Lofton lost her life after being shot multiple times in the head and body by her husband, Marcus Lofton.

Fox 17 states that,

Court records detail the final moments of Alicia's life. According to records, Alicia and Marcus had a history of domestic violence in their relationship. The couple married in February 2023. In May of 2023, Marcus was arrested for harming Alicia. A condition of his bond from that arrest was that he would have no contact with Alicia.

Before Alicia was killed, she was in the process of filing for divorce from Marcus, which is what the two were arguing about that day.

Marcus told the officers that he allegedly took Alicia's handgun out of the drawer to hit her with it when the gun went off.

Due to Marcus' actions, a beautiful life was lost and several people's lives were altered permanently, including Alicia's three children.

Their mother was tragically taken from us on August 17th and with my niece’s permission, I wanted to help them in any way possible. Money nor will words bring back their mother but I want to help relief them any way we can with any expense they may come about. My oldest niece is in her last year of college, my nephew will be starting college and my youngest is in high school. I can’t put a dollar amount on it so I just chose an amount! Anything helps rather it’s $1 or $100!
