Which Trader Joe's Product Is Being Recalled?
Have you bought the Infinite Herbs-branded basil from Trader Joe's recently?
Well, go ahead and toss that in the trash for me real quick.
The organic basil has been pulled from the shelves in 29 different states due to a salmonella outbreak.
Because of the salmonella outbreak, twelve people have gotten sick.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a statement that any one who has bought the basil should not eat it. It should be thrown away immediately or returned to your local Trader Joe's.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shared that the people who have gotten sick with in these seven states:
- Florida
- Georgia
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- New Jersey
- Rhode Island
- Wisconsin
Seven of the 12 affected people became sick after eating the basil from Trader Joe's.
In an official statement, Infinite Herbs CEO Grego Berlatsky shared that the company is voluntarily recalling some of the 2.5-ounce packages of basil.
If you bought the basil between February 1st and April 6th and it also has a UPC 818042 02147 7, it could have the potential of being contaminated.
Rather be safe than sorry.

These 29 states, including Washington D.C., have pulled the basil from Trader Joe's shelves.
