The John Ball Park Zoo has undergone a ton of improvements in preparation for their 2012 season. Not only have they added some new animals, like a baby camel. But, they've also upgraded some of their facilities including the entrance plaza and gift shop, and added the Bissel Tree House, an indoor event space that's expected to open in August for weddings, corporate events, and the like. And then there's the gift shop...

Their new gift shop is quite a leap from the one that you've seen in the past. Gift Manager Theresa Danneffel told our friends at WZZM 13 that the space is nearly four times bigger than the old gift shop, and features some rather unusual, but eco-friendly, items.

She laughed while saying,

We have a special kind of stationary that's made out of elephant poop. So we are definitely recycling here at the zoo.

I don't know how likely I would be to use elephant poop stationary, but I suppose you could always use it to send letters to people that you don't like. And then laugh thinking about them opening it, and holding it, and reading it. All the while not knowing that they're actually holding elephant poop in their hands.

Or maybe it's just me that would do that...
