John Ball Zoo Extends 2024 Lantern Festival After Huge Demand
A lot of people recently have been talking about how incredible the northern lights were to see in West Michigan- but one of the greatest light shows you'll see is one that is hanging out at the John Ball Zoo until the middle of June:
I took my little guy to see the displays during the opening week, and it's truly a magical experience to see the zoo lit up at night for people of all ages.
And if you haven't seen it, you now have a few extra opprotunities. That's because the Lantern Festival at Grand Rapids' John Ball Zoo is going so well that they've decided to add some additional dates.

Originally scheduled to wrap up in June, the zoo is now extending the festival to include Tuesday nights due to its overwhelming popularity. Starting tonight, visitors can enjoy the festival Tuesdays through Sundays until June 16.
These tickets are likely to go fast, so you'll want to buy yours ahead of time to make sure you'll get in. And of course- remember when you purchase your tickets ahead of time, as they have a 30-minute entry time window.
The festival, organized by Tianyu Arts and Culture, showcases traditional lanterns celebrating Asian culture and promotes a shared conservation message between the zoo and Tianyu. Don't miss this enchanting and educational event while it's visiting West Michigan.
