Keeping Busy, Kissing, And Car Seats

Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke! So let's get to the tips!

Today’s first Daddy Tip is how to keep your little one busy for extended periods of time. Repetitive tasks! Kids love them for some reason, so we like to set Charlotte up with these tasks to keep her busy. She really loves taking objects from one container and moving it to another so we will give her a toy shovel and a couple of flower pots with dirt in the backyard and she will spend almost an hour moving dirt, rocks, and sticks between the two flower pots. And eventually, you can turn those tasks into chores.
The next Daddy Tip will make your significant other’s heart melt! If your little one is anything like Charlotte, then they have been little huggers for a while now, but don’t know how to kiss. That’s when you step in and teach your little one to kiss while your partner is gone and then surprise them when they get home with a big smooch from their baby! Plus, once Charlotte goes out on her first date, I can weird out the guy telling him that when he leans in for that goodnight kiss, just remember that I taught her how to smooch! That’ll
And the final Daddy Tip of the week is about how dang confusing buying car seats is. Like seriously, don’t just go to the store with plans of buying a new car seat before doing some research. There are front facing, rear facing, booster, infant, toddler, convertible, transformable, and I swear even nuclear powered. I made the mistake of shopping for one without doing any research, and it was stressful! So, just a heads up that a new car seat is not an impulse buy. Put your time in reading about product options!
