Licking, Climbing, and Nesting – Steve’s Daddy Tips (8-5-20)

This week's Daddy Tips include a tip for father's who are expecting another child soon.  Have you ever heard of nesting?  Well, you can find out what that is and how to manage it with today's Daddy Tips.

1. The first Daddy Tip is to not be worried if your toddler is licking windows or walls. Toddlers just do weird stuff like that. Obviously you should tell them not to do that because it’s disgusting but they probably won’t listen to you right away and do it anyway. But don’t worry, kids always break their weird habits that might be a bit concerning at first. For example, Charlotte used to act like a dog all the time crawling around on all fours barking and eating food off the floor. But after about a month she’s totally over it.
2. The next Daddy Tip is an easy one, kids learn how to climb up before they learn to climb down. When you are out at the park with your little one, watch out for when they are climbing because the only way they will get down is by jumping or falling and if they are anything like Charlotte, they have no fear and will climb as high as they can get. So just be ready to help them climb down when they need it.
3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is for anyone with a pregnant wife, beware the nesting instinct. Nesting, for those who don’t know what that is, is a feeling pregnant ladies get that makes them prepare your home for the upcoming newborn. Prioritize your nesting honey do list because some of her requests are going to be kinda crazy like painting the trim in the mud room and redoing the landscaping. Like seriously? Most of the other things on the list make sense like organizing the baby stuff, getting overnight bags ready, and thoroughly cleaning the house. But redoing landscaping has nothing to do with a new baby. That can wait.
