If Matt Nathanson's music career ever peters out (which it won't, because he's awesome), he could probably make a legit living as a comedian. He's charismatic and hysterical. He's got a way of completely engaging a crowd, which he definitely did at his sold-out show with Gavin DeGraw at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park July 15.

From reminding us that we all have a tiny Whitney Houston inside of us that is yearning to belt out  "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", to calling out a guy he thought was being douchey and paying more attention to his phone, Nathanson involved the crowd his entire set. Oh, and there was that one time he ran through the audience, getting right up in it, high-fiving everyone and singing his head off.

Nathanson played his hits "Suspended" and "Faster", plus "Laid" from the "American Pie 2" soundtrack and "Wedding Dress", which was featured on "One Tree Hill."

He ended the show with an awesome extended version of  "Come on Get Higher," in which he peppered in "Grease Lightning" and "You're the One That I want" from "Grease," of course getting the crowd to join in with him. Before he exited the stage, he complimented our fair city yelling "Grand Rapids, your sweetness knows no bounds!" Thanks Matt, you're pretty sweet yourself.

As for when he ran through the crowd, he was debuting his new song "Headphones," an infectious ode to the power of music. Check that out below.
