
This Michigan City Ranks Near the Top for Broken McDonald’s Ice Cream Machines
Have you ever experienced the soul crushing moment of rolling up to the drive-thru window at your local McDonald's with dreams of getting a vanilla ice cream cone or an Oreo McFlurry and when you order it the employee on the other end of the headset gives you the devastating news that the ice cream machine is broken.

If you've ever wondered, like I have, whether this happens everywhere else or just where you live, some people have decided to collect data and come up with places across the United States of where you're most likely to find a working ice cream machine as well as where it's broken down the most.

One of the worst locations in the country is in Michigan.
McDonald's Ice Cream Machines Broken
The Action Network which is a sports betting site looked into nearly six years of reported ice cream machine status across 492 cities and all 50 states (plus DC) to find where getting an ice ream cone is a safe bet and where it's a real longshot.
Here is what they found.
The top location where the ice cream machine was reported to be down the most was in Cleveland, TN, where The Action Network said that there was a nearly 47% chance that the ice cream machine wouldn’t work.
It was followed by
- Albany, Georgia (42.4%)
- Gulfport, Mississippi (39.7%)
- Kalamazoo, Michigan (38.6%)
- Puyallup, Washington (37.6%).

While this isn't an exact science, it still bums me out to see Michigan so high up on the list.
