Mecosta County Sheriff Investigating Heartbreaking Triple Shooting in Morton Township
Three people are dead in what Mecosta County Sheriff Brian Miller believes was a murder-suicide.

The Mecosta County Sheriff's office was contacted Wednesday morning around 10:30am by a woman related to the family after she couldn't get ahold of her brother or her parents.
When a deputy arrived at the home in Canadian Lakes for a welfare check he knocked on the door and nobody answered.
The deputy then looked into one of the houses windows and saw a body lying on the floor.
When the deputy entered the home on Edgewater Drive off of Main Street in Morton Township he found 64-year-old Thomas Pinard who owned the home, along with his parents George Jedrey, 79, and Betty Jedrey, 85 all deceased from apparent gun-shot wounds.

Thomas Pinard's parents moved into his home about 8 years ago so he could be their primary caretaker.
During that time police say they never received calls about any instances or disturbances at the home.
News 8 talked to a neighbor about the family and said;
“They’re very nice people. The mother’s been sick on and off, but they’re super nice people. I’m shocked to hear this.”
I don't know if will ever know what caused this sad incident to happen, but my thoughts are with the woman who called in the welfare check along with her family.
