Meijer has a new program for getting rid of expired or unused medications.

WZZM-13 reports that there are now kiosks for disposing of your medications for free at all 241 Meijer stores in the Midwest.

The secure kiosks are located in the pharmacy area.

According to a release, customers can use the kiosks during pharmacy hours to dispose any unused, unwanted or expired drugs – including opioids, controlled substances, and over-the-counter medications.

Meijer pharmacists will then properly document, transport, and dispose of medications.
