Michigan’s 2026 Tornado Total Hits 20 After NWS Confirms New West Michigan Touchdowns
Mother nature has been really tough on Michiganders this year.

We're only halfway through the year, but it sure seems like we've been getting slammed with severe weather that ends up producing damaging and deadly tornados.
There have already been 20 confirmed tornadoes in Michigan.
Nine of these tornados happened between April 14 and April 25.
Over the weekend the 19th and 20th confirmed tornadoes happened.
The NWS says that one tornado touched down in southern Kent County in the Alto area, and another one happened in Barry County on Thursday night.

This comes a day after thunderstorms and strong winds made their way across West Michigan.
At my house in Grand Rapids the Wednesday night storms were not severe, but the wind was intense.
One strong gust of wind came out of nowhere and sent the tree in my backyard crashing down to the ground.

Most of it landed in the middle of the yard, but the top part of the tree came to a rest on the back of my house, and my fence was left lying on the ground in my neighbor's yard.

Thankfully everyone was ok and our house mainly suffered just cosmetic damage, at least that's how it appears, I'll have to see what a contractor says.
