Charming Michigan Airbnb Cottage in the Woods Was Once a Rollercoaster
The Willow House has a story to tell. Not only is this adorable Airbnb on the west side of the state considered one of the most unique Airbnbs in Michigan, but it's also proof that everything old can truly be new again. You see, Willow House was once a rollercoaster.
The Willow House cottage is located in Stevensville, Michigan, and is less than 15 minutes south of Downtown St. Joseph and about a mile from the beach at Grand Mere Park. Nestled in the woods, the secluded cottage looks like something straight out of a storybook.
What makes this adorable rental so interesting is that the cottage is constructed of stone and wood reclaimed from the historic Silver Beach Amusement Park roller coaster. The legendary amusement park graced the shores of St. Joseph, Michigan, from 1891-1971. Today the original site is known as Silver Beach County Park.
