I'm sad to say that during a very dark time in my life, I did spend several years living in Ohio, Thankfully I was a little baby and don't remember that dark time of my life.

But still, how could my mom do that to me?

I'm not saying it was child neglect or abuse but there are clearly a lot of reasons why Michigan is better than Ohio.

Here are just a few of the reasons.

All We Do Is Win! Win! Win!

In Michigan, we have the better sports teams in both college and professional sports.

Michigan is packed with great sports teams including The Wolverines, Spartans, Red Wings, Tigers, and Pistons. Heck the Lions might even go to the Super Bowl this year.

We've Got A Second Peninsula

Michigan is the only state in America that has this awesome feature, take that Ohio!

And connecting the trolls of Michigan's Lower Peninsula to Yoopers in the Upper Peninsula is the beautiful Mackinac Bridge

The Automotive Industry

We would still be getting around on horses if it wasn't for the amazing contributions of Michigan's automotive industry.

Companies like Ford, GM, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Dodge, and Oldsmobile helped Detroit earn the nickname "The Motor City".

We Have More Water

Michigan has the highest percentage of water area for any state in the country. 41.5 percent of Michigan is water. Ohio is at 8.8 percent.

Don't forget more of the Great Lakes touch our shorelines than Ohio

Better Music

or one of the greatest rappers of all time Eminem, Michigan music is simply better.

Speed Limits

Every time I head to Ohio to see my mom and grandma I have to drive like a snail when crossing the state line because the speed limit drops down to 65 MPH.

I always see an Ohio State Trooper looking to pull over a Michigander and write a ticket for speeding.

The Pizza

I know it seems like all I'm doing is bashing Ohio and for the most part I am. But I've gotta give credit to them that they have a pizza place I like called Donatos.

Ok, now that I'm done being nice the truth is Michigan has so many better pizza options.

My personal favorite is Jet's Detroit Style Pizza, Buddy's Pizza, and of course Little Ceasers Pizza.

Beer City USA

Michigan has more than 350 breweries across the state and they're all better than anything you would find in Ohio.

Some of my favorites are Founders, Bells, and Perrin.
