With the holidays coming up, we've got some bad news for Michiganders.  We are one of the fattest states in America and we ain't getting any lighter with all of that awesome holiday food on the horizon.

WalletHub.com released a list of 2019's Fattest States in America and Michigan comes in at number 11 on that list.  Oof.  At least we weren't in the top 10?

Michiganders have some more bad news too.  Michigan has the second-highest percentage of obese children, sandwiched between Mississippi at number 1 and West Virginia at 3rd.

WalletHub used three key dimensions to determine their results: Obesity & Overweight Prevalence, Health Consequences, and Food & Fitness.  Those key dimensions are further broken down into a few dozen metrics.  You can check out their methodology here.

WalletHub even listed every state favorite comfort food and Michigan's favorite might be one of the reasons why we are one of the fattest states. Our favorite comfort food is pasties which comes in at 768 calories a serving and is one of the worst foods for you on the list of comfort foods. You can see the rest below.
