According To Experts, Michigan Marriages Are Some Of The Best In America
There a lot of pessimistic people out there who may warn you that 50% of marriages end in divorce, and that you should either be careful about who you marry, or to skip doing it all.
And that feels like a pretty negative outlook on what can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in life. It took moving to Michigan before I found my happily ever after, so I believe it's a place for lovers. (Sorry Virginia.)
And sure, we all know people who couldn't make it work after they tied the knot. But, it turns out, that divorce is becoming less and less of the norm for families in America. In fact, according to data from the CDC, The divorce rate has been slowly declining for the last 20 years.
So if you're one of those non-believers, it seems maybe you aren't calling Michigan home based on what they found, because Michiganders are some of the most loyal of all to their life partners.
According to their data, Michiganders are the 6th best in the country about saying "I do" and keeping their vows.
In fact, on average we stay married for a whopping 22 years. And maybe that's because we don't mind to wait a little on finding our forever someone, because we tend to be 29 years old on average when we get married.
So the next time someone tries to be negative about you deciding to say "I do", remind them that the odds are in your favor here in Michigan to find your happily ever after. Or at least your happily for the next 22 years, which is nothing to be ashamed of either.
