Those of us who live here know that Michigan has its fair share of adorable small towns. Being from the eastern end of the U.P., I tend to think of the quaint little towns around where I grew up when someone mentions "adorable small towns", but a new list from WorldAtlas focused on towns in the Great Lakes.

Of the nine small towns listed, a whopping six of them are located in Michigan.

Which Michigan Small Towns Made WorldAtlas' 'Most Adorable' List?

While Minnesota had two small towns on the list and Wisconsin had one, Michigan can boast six adorable small lakeside towns.

Traverse City, Michigan - In addition to being adorable, Traverse City offers up great shopping, dining, wineries, and beautiful beaches. Plus, Traverse City was just named as the first Certified Autism Destination in the entire Midwest!

Mackinaw City, Michigan - There's a ton to do in Mackinaw City - from exploring Fort Mackinaw (I took many a school field trip there as a kid), to shopping, to eating. Plus, if you love the outdoors and stargazing, Mackinaw City is home to Headlands International Dark Sky Park.

Munising, Michigan - I have to admit, I haven't been to Munising in YEARS, but I remember it being a pretty cute little town. Munising is probably best known for Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, but it is also home to a bunch of cute little shops and restaurants that are perfect for locals and vacationers alike.

Petoskey, Michigan - Full disclosure, I've only ever been in Petoskey to see family members at the hospital (though I will say that they have great views of the water from some of the waiting rooms there.) But, Petoskey is also home to tons of great shops and restaurants - and of course beaches along Little Traverse Bay.

Marquette, Michigan - Marquette, home to Northern Michigan University and the Superior Dome (once named the "world's largest wooden dome"), also makes the list. There's a ton to do in Marquette due to it being a college town, but there's also the natural beauty like hiking trails, Presque Isle Park, and more.

Ludington, Michigan - Ludington is, surprisingly, the lone West Michigan small lakeshore town to make the list. Of course, there's Ludington State Park, but Ludington has a ton to offer including
