Nerd Alert: Michigan Now Has It’s First Ever Manga Cafe
When it comes to being a "nerd" or liking things in nerd culture, it can feel a little isolating if you don't know someone who has the same interests as you. While you may find a community online to share your fandom with, sometimes you just want to sit down with other people face to face and chat about the latest episode of your favorite anime
Nerds can now rejoice, because Michigan's first ever manga cafe recently opened, giving a safe haven for those who love everything Japanese.
It's called the Haru Cafe, and it's located in Sterling Heights. This adorable cafe offers shelves stocked with some of your favorite manga novels (aka Japanese comic books for those who aren't aware) as well as a friendly atmosphere ready for you to enjoy.
If you're not into manga, that's okay- they're also offering some stuff for the traditional American comic book lovers, too! Don't feel bad if you aren't already reading through something on the other shelves, they're welcoming to all fandoms.
Then while you're sitting down and reading something from their collection, you can also enjoy a tasty Japanese inspired drink or snack.
This place is adorable, and it's surprising we don't have more places like this popping up around Michigan. For those lovers of all things anime and manga, this is a great place to hang out until the next comic con to meet some new friends.
