Officer Betsy Summerfield received a call about a deer in a pool and rushed into action. Upon her arrival, she saw that the young fawn was trapped underneath the pool's cover and was unable to get out. It was clear that the animal was in distress.

So, Officer Summerfield didn't hesitate to jump directly into the murky waters of the pool to save the fawn.

She was able to safely get the fawn out of the pool, but that wasn't the end of the story. The poor baby deer was so exhausted by the ordeal that it collapsed and wasn't able to get back up.

Officer Summerfield "gently dried" the fawn and gave it a little bit of a massage for 40 or so minutes. All of this was happening while the fawn's mother watched from nearby. Eventually, the fawn recovered from its time spent in the pool and was able to happily trot back over to its mother.
