Does Anyone In Michigan Actually Like The Olive Burger?
Over the past few days, I've been thinking about new goals for 2025.
One category I came up with was "trying all the famous food and drinks Michigan is known for."
I've already had a good start with my love of Faygo, Vernors, Better Made, Coney dogs, and Little Caesars.

For almost my entire life, I've lived in Michigan, and there has been a constant food item that I've heard people say is so great, but when I think about it, it makes me sick to my stomach.
I'm talking about the legendary olive burger.
What's An Olive Burger?
If you're unfamiliar with the olive burger this is the story behind it.
The olive burger is believed to have originated in Flint, Michigan, at Kewpee Hotel Hamburgs in 1923.
This place is often credited with introducing the unique combination of ground beef topped with chopped green olives and mayonnaise, which has since become a staple in many local diners and burger joints across Michigan.

I love meat, but the thought of an olive anywhere near a burger makes my stomach turn.
I asked my friends on Facebook if they felt the same way I do, and apparently I'm the weirdo.
Even though deep down I fear I'll never like olives, I think I owe it to myself and the great state of Michigan to give the olive burger a try and see if I've been wrong this entire time.
In order for this to happen, I need your advice. Please share with me who has the best olive burger in Michigan so I can finally try one for myself.
